Her body was airlifted from Naivasha to Mombasa and then transported by road to the family home in Mkakwani Village.
The family was forced to wait for almost two weeks for the body to be released due to the DNA identification process. They had earlier called on the government to expedite the process, saying the continued delay had deepened their grief.

According to her mother, Asha Mazuri, Zuhura dreamed of becoming a doctor so she could serve her community and make a difference in people’s lives. “She constantly told me that she aspired to become a neurosurgeon and worked hard to achieve that goal,” said her mother.

The mother further urged the authorities to conduct thorough investigations and ensure that those responsible face justice.
Nine students aged between 15 and 17, who are accused of starting the fire, are being held for 21 days at Nakuru Children’s Remand Home after a Naivasha court denied them bond, pending the completion of investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
While the government had pledged to give Sh200,000 to each family to help cover funeral expenses, the family says they are yet to receive the funds. “The National Government, working closely with the County Government, remains fully committed to all the promises made to the affected families. The Government is taking necessary administrative and legal processes towards the fulfilment of these commitments,” said government spokesman Isaac Mwaura.
May Allah forgive her shortcomings, grant patience to her family, and admit her among His noble servants in Paradise.
