The Human Development Fund (HDF) has announced scholarship opportunities for students at the Islamic University of Kenya (IUK).

The HDF Global Scholarship Program is specifically designed for high-performing, financially challenged students, covering tuition, accommodation, and providing essential pocket money.

The Scholarships for the Academic Year 2026 are available for students who are interested in pursuing Bachelor of Education (Arts and Sciences), Bachelor of Islamic Shariah, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor Business Management.

Prospective applicants must be financially needy student, committed to personal growth and serve their community.

The deadline for submission of applications is May 4 2026, and the prospective applicants should apply through the HDF scholarship portal: scholarships.hdfund.org.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Osman said this is a great opportunity for students who are passionate about education but may be facing financial challenges. “If you meet the requirements, we encourage you to apply and take a bold step toward securing your future. Education is not just a privilege—it is a powerful tool for change,” he said.

The HDF also works closely with the Kenya-based Africa Education & Development Trust- AEDT to offer both scholarships and interest-free study loans to IUK students.

Since its founding in the early 2000s, IUK has grown from a specialized center in Islamic and Arabic studies into a dynamic, inclusive university offering a wide range of academic programs across business, education, technology, and the humanities.

The programs are designed to equip students with practical skills, strong values, and a forward-thinking mindset — preparing them to thrive in today's competitive world and tomorrow's evolving challenges.

Chartered in November 2024 by President William Ruto, IUK stands as a symbol of quality education, national development, and visionary academic transformation.
