The 100,000 Bricks Ramadhan Challenge raises Sh 7.7m surpassing target

The 100,000 Bricks Ramadhan Challenge, a fundraising campaign aimed at supporting the construction of Masjid Al Ameen, has successfully raised Sh7.7 million, surpassing its initial target of Sh5 million.
The programme was launched at the beginning of Ramadhan with the goal of mobilizing Muslims to be part of the project and earn sadaqatul jariya (ongoing charity) through their contributions towards the mosque’s construction.
Participants contributed by purchasing bricks, with each brick priced at a minimum of Sh50, and all proceeds directed towards the construction project.
“Alhamdulillah, we have surpassed our target by more than 50 percent, raising funds equivalent to over 154,000 bricks. We thank Allah for allowing us to give, to strive, and to be part of an initiative that will continue to benefit the community long after Ramadhan,” said the Al Ameen Masjid CEO Ali Khalid.
While expressing appreciation for the community’s overwhelming support, he noted that the contributions demonstrate a deep love for the House of Allah adding that the initiative will stand as a lasting legacy of sacrifice and unity among Muslims who came together for the common good of the ummah.
“May what you gave illuminate your grave, ease your burdens, and be your companion on the Day you meet Allah,” he added.
The ambitious expansion project — which will also function as a waqf (endowment) for the mosque — is expected to generate income to sustain the mosque’s operations and support its educational, social welfare, and various da’wah programmes.
Upon completion, the facility will include an expanded Al Ameen Academy — the mosque’s flagship school — as well as an auditorium, sports centre, media centre, and counselling facilities, among other amenities.
Construction is in progress at the site adjacent to Masjid Al Ameen near the Juja Road estate in Nairobi.
To support the project, contributions can be made via M-Pesa Paybill number 797559, Account Name: Masjid.
