Masjid Al Ameen has launched a fundraising initiative to support the construction of a waqf project aimed at expanding its facilities and sustaining its long-term operations.

The initiative seeks to raise funds equivalent to 100,000 bricks for the ongoing construction. The cost of each brick is Sh50, for ten bricks it will cost Sh500 while 100 bricks will cost Sh5,000.

Construction of the expansion project — which will also function as an endowment (waqf) for the mosque — has already reached the third storey. The development is located next to Al Ameen Mosque near the Juja Road estate in Nairobi.

Chief Executive Officer Ali Khalid appealed to the public for support, noting that the project will enhance and sustain the mosque’s da’wah activities and help accelerate the construction process.

“This is an excellent form of Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity). The reward for building a mosque is great and continuous — for every prayer said inside a mosque that you have helped build, Allah will reward you with a house in Jannah,” he said.

“Each brick laid is an investment in this life and the Hereafter. This is your chance to leave a lasting legacy of faith and hope. Let us reach 100,000 bricks together,” he added.

The waqf project is expected to generate income to sustain the mosque’s operations, including funding educational facilities, an orphanage, and other da’wah and social welfare programmes run by the institution.

In addition to expanding space for worshippers, the proposed facility will include additional classrooms for Al Ameen Academy — the mosque’s flagship school — as well as an auditorium, sports centre, media centre and counselling areas, among other amenities.

To support the project, contributions can be made via M-Pesa Paybill number 797559, Account Name: BRICKS.
