A one-day symposium for Muslim officers serving in disciplined forces has been scheduled for Sunday, February 22, at Adams Masjid in Nairobi.

The event, themed “Self-Control in Islam,” is organized by Nairobi-based da’wah organization, Risala and aims to strengthen Islamic values among officers serving in various uniformed services.

The programme targets personnel from several agencies, including the National Police Service, Kenya Prisons Service, Kenya Defence Forces, Kenya Wildlife Service, Kenya Forest Service, and the National Youth Service.

Among the speakers expected at the event are Sheikh Jamaludin Osman, Imam of Jamia Mosque, Nairobi; Sheikh Ahmad Uthman, Imam of Landhies Mosque; Sheikh Saad Ahmed; Sheikh Said Bafana; and Sheikh Akram Maalim.

This will be the second symposium organized for Muslim officers in the disciplined forces following the initial programme held in March last year under the theme “Role of Model as a Discipline officer”

It forms part of Risala Organization’s broader community-based initiatives aimed at uplifting the spiritual development of officers while reaffirming the core values that guide men and women in uniform — discipline, integrity, teamwork, and dedication to service.
