The competition, which has become a key event in the county’s Ramadhan calendar, featured talented participants from across the county. The three-day event served as a platform for promoting the values of the Qur’an and inspiring future generations to enhance their knowledge of the Qur’an.

Participants competed in three categories, showcasing their mastery in memorizing the Holy Qur’an.

Winners in each category received prizes in recognition of their efforts to recite and memorize the Book of Allah.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting religious education and nurturing young talent.

“We are proud of our students who have demonstrated discipline, dedication, and deep knowledge of the Qur’an. We will continue investing in programs that uplift our youth spiritually and academically,” he said.

He emphasized that investing in religious education not only aids personal development but also contributes to social harmony and unity among the county’s diverse population.

Leaders present at the event echoed the call for unity and collective responsibility in mentoring the youth, emphasizing that religious education remains a cornerstone of societal stability.

Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, Hassan Ali Joho, was the chief guest at the ceremony, which was graced by several national and county leaders, including Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir, Garissa Senator Abdul Haji, Mvita MP Mohammed Machele, and Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba, among other leaders.
