Nakuru here we come.  All set for grand da’wah convention

The Rift Valley city of Nakuru will this week host one of the biggest Islamic gatherings in the county, the Nakuru Da’wah Convention. The four-day event is set to begin on Thursday, December 11, at the Rahma Islamic centre in Nakuru town.

Held under the theme, Reviving the Sunnah, the event will feature a host of local and international scholars who will nourish the attendees with soul-searching lectures and reminders on various aspects of Islam.

The international scholars, who include Sheikh Noordin Kishki from Tanzania, Sheikh Bizimana from Burundi and Sheikh Mohammed Abdiweli from Uganda have already arrived in the country, ready for the convention.

Sheikh Mansour Hamzah and Sheikh Hassan Muhammadayn from Tanzania are also expected at the four-day event.

“The people of Nakuru, we are already here in the country, and we are here to nourish your soul, make a date at the convention,” said Sheikh Kishki upon his arrival in the country at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The event is organized by Nairobi based organization, Risala Conveying the Message and is open to both men and women and even people of other faiths.

As part of the convention, scholars will this Friday deliver sermons (khutbas) at various mosques in Nakuru and towns in its environs.

For the Friday sermon on December 12, Sheikh Nurdin Kishki will be the khatib at Nakuru Jamia Mosque, Sheikh Abdulrahman Ishaq will be at Masjid Ibrahim, Eveready, the Khutbah at Masjid Rahma will be delivered by Sheikh Mansour Hamzah, and Sheikh Hassan Ahmed will be the guest khatib at Masjid Omar, Pipeline.

Sheikh Mohamed Abdiweli will head to Kambi Somali mosque, Sheikh Saad Ahmed will be the khatib at Masjid Abubakar, Sheikh Hassan Muhammadayn will deliver the sermon at Masjid Taufiq in Shabab Estate, Sheikh Said Bafana will be at Masjid Noor 58, while Sheikh Abdulrashid al Hilaly will deliver the khutba at Bondeni mosque in Nakuru.

The itinerary will also see Sheikh Jamaludin Osman delivering the khutbah at Kabarnet Jamia mosque, Sheikh Issack Adam will deliver the sermon at the Gilgil Jamia mosque, Sheikh Abu Hamzah will be at the Narok Jamia mosque, while Sheikh Ibrahim Samuel Njuguna will be having a homecoming khutbah at Masjid Noor in his hometown of Njoro.

According to the schedule, Sheikh Abdulkhaliq Issa will deliver the sermon at the Eldama Ravine Jamia mosque, Sheikh Ali Mohamed will be in Mogotio, while Sheikh Zuberi Bizimani will be the khatib at Naivasha Jamia mosque.

The convention will be relayed live through Ilm TV and Al Haajar TV.
