In an initiative aimed at bringing hope to desperate families with children suffering from heart conditions, the Malindi Sub County Hospital is organizing a free camp to children with cardiac complications.

As part of its efforts to help bridge critical healthcare gaps in the society, the hospital has partnered with international partners who will provide specialized care to children suffering from heart-related issues.

The initiative aims to address the healthcare needs of marginalized communities by providing curative, preventive, protective, and referral services.

The camp will be held on Saturday, November 15 at the hospital and is open to patients from across the country.

The doctors will provide free consultations as well as free echoardioardigram tests, an ultrasound examination that checks the heart's structure and function.

Those found with adverse complications will be facilitated with free heart surgery procedures at the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital (CGTRH) in Mombasa.

Ordinarily, critical heart surgery at the Kenyatta National Hospital costs a minimum of Sh500,000 while at private hospitals, the operation costs are between Sh1.5 million and Sh3 million, making them inaccessible to many.

Bookings for the paediatric camp can be done through 0711 418095.
