Judiciary moves 32 Kadhis in major reshuffle
In all, the reshuffle has seen the transfer of 13 Senior Principal Kadhis and 19 Principal Kadhis to various stations around the country

The Judiciary Service Commission (JSC) has announced a reshuffle among Kadhis as a part of an exercise aimed at improving on service delivery in the courts which adjudicate on matters pertaining to personal law among Muslims.
In all, the reshuffle has seen the transfer of 13 Senior Principal Kadhis and 19 Principal Kadhis to various stations around the country.
“This is a normal exercise within the Judiciary and it is aimed at enhancing access to justice through efficiency in service delivery in the Kadhi courts,” said the acting Chief Kadhi Sheikh Sukyan Hassan Omar.
Among Senior Principal Kadhis, Mohamed Kutwa has been moved from Machakos to Garissa replacing Ali Dida who becomes the new Kadhi for Marsabit.
The Kajiado Kadhi Abdilatif Silau Malampu has been transferred to Balambala in Garissa county while Adan Galgalo leaves his station in Moyale to Wajir. Adan Tulu moves from Habaswein taking up a new post at Takaba, Said Khamis Bedzenga leaves the Dadaab station to Bungoma,Shaban Issa has been transferred from Kilifi to Eldoret while Swaleh Mohamed Ali who has been the Garsen Kadhi will take up a similar role in Mombasa.
The new Kadhi of Lamu is Salim Juma Mwaito who was previously in Mariakani, Salim Vumbi moves from Kakuma to Kwale, Mohamed Noor Issack moves from Bute to Merti, Khamis Ramadhan who was in Eldoret has been moved to Kilifi while Salim Mwidadi Abdallah has been transferred from Kitui to Voi.
In the transfers involving Principal Kadhis, Mohamed Garama Randu moves from Upper Hill Nairobi to Bute in Wajir county, Mohamud Ibrahim Mohamed from Wajir to Dadaab, Hussein Mohamed Hassan who was in Garissa swaps the position with Fahad Ismail Mohamed who was previously the Takaba Kadhi.
Similarly, Issack Maalim Ahmed moves from Takaba to Machakos, the Garbatula Kadhi Ali Ibrahim Dadacha moves to Isiolo, Mustafa Guyo Shunu moves from Marsabit to Nyeri, Dhulkifl Karanja Waweru who was in Nyeri headsto Garbatulla, Mohamed Sheikh Wehliye who served in Bungoma moves to Habaswein while Muhyidin Mohamed Sambul moves from Balambala to Mandera.
The new changes have also seen Omar Khamis Swaleh moving from Mombasa to Garsen, Mohamed Kule Mohamed being transferred from Mandera to Kitui, Dogo Sheikh Dabaso from Merti to Moyale, Mohamed Awadh Gavava taking up the position in Kajiado from Isiolo, Masudi Mvundi Makange who served in Voi moving to Mariakani while Mursal Mohamed Sizi who was the Lamu Kadhi heads to Msambweni.
In addition, Jamal Opacha Imodoi becomes the new Kadhi of Kakuma after being moved from Kwale, Wendo Shaban Wendo who was in Msambweni moves to Kericho swapping places with Idris Nyaboga Nyamagosa who has been moved to the Kadhi courts in Upper Hill, Nairobi.
The transfers are to take effect on January 12, 2026.
The changes follow the promotion by the Judicial Service Commission in September last year of 20 Kadhis to the position of Principal Kadhis.
