Isiolo South MP Tubi Bidu Mohamed passes away

Isiolo South MP Tubi Bidu Mohamed passed away on Wednesday, November 12, while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.

Tubi was serving his first term as a legislator after being elected to Parliament in August 2022.

In the August House, he was a member of the Departmental Committee on Environment and the Public Petitions Committee, where he was known for his dedication to his work.

Before joining parliament, Tubi served as the inaugural Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly between 2013 and 2017, a position that made him one of the respected voices in county governance.

President William Ruto joined other leaders in mourning the legislator. He remembered Tubi as a dedicated public servant who dedicated his efforts to promoting education and community empowerment.

The President highlighted the legislator's unwavering commitment to transforming the lives of his constituents and advancing development in Isiolo.

“Hon. Tubi will be remembered as a dedicated public servant and a passionate advocate for education, who believed in empowering communities through knowledge and opportunity,” President Ruto said in his condolence message.

Describing his death as a profound loss to Parliament and the nation, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula hailed Tubi for his remarkable service to the nation and positive impact both in Parliament and among his constituents. “He was a great leader whose commitment, humility, and service to his people left a lasting positive impact on our nation,” said the Speaker.

“Hon. Tubi’s devotion to service and his commitment to uplifting Isiolo South will be fondly remembered,” he added.

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale described him as a humble and devoted leader who served his people with integrity and compassion. “Our nation, and especially the people of Northern Kenya, mourn the passing of Hon. Tubi Mohammed, MP for Isiolo South, who succumbed after a long illness. He was a respected elder and a dedicated leader who served his constituents with commitment and humility since his election in 2022,” said the CS.

"Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Saddened by the passing of Hon. Mohamed Tubi, MP, Isiolo South. His dedication to service and commitment to his people will always be remembered,” said Likoni MP Mishi Mboko.
