The partnership reflects the strong bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Kenya and their shared commitment to promoting cooperation in Islamic affairs

The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) has signed a three-year cooperation agreement on Islamic affairs with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, by SUPKEM Chairman Hassan Ole Naado and the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, in the coastal city of Jeddah.
The partnership reflects the strong bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Kenya and their shared commitment to promoting cooperation in Islamic affairs.
“This partnership signifies our shared commitment to strengthening religious cooperation, promoting authentic Islamic teachings, combating extremism, and enhancing the capacity of religious leaders and institutions in Kenya,” the chairman said in a statement.
He expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—particularly the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance—for its continued support to the Kenyan Muslim community and its commitment to advancing Islamic education and promoting authentic Da'wah.
“We pray that this partnership benefits the citizens of both nations and the Muslim community at large,” he added.
Present at the signing ceremony were Ambassador Aden Muhamud, Consul General of the Republic of Kenya in Jeddah, and Sheikh (Dr.) Aden Yunis Ibrahim, SUPKEM Regional Coordinator for Northern Kenya.
