Parklands Mosque donates over Sh1M for Sudan aid efforts

Parklands Mosque Committee and Madrasah Trust donated more than Sh 1 million to Jamia Mosque, Nairobi, as a contribution towards humanitarian efforts for Sudan.

The cheque was presented by the Imam Sheikh Abdulrahman Ishaq and received by the Jamia Mosque Finance officer Abubakar Nazir at a function held at the mosque on Friday December 26,2025.
Speaking at the event, the mosque chairman, Fauz Qureshi said it was the policy of the mosque to reach out to the worshippers and well-wishers to give a hand of assistance to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable people.
He commended worshippers at the mosque for joining hands with the committee to support noble efforts aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable people who require life-saving aid.
Jamia Mosque last month launched a drive to support humanitarian efforts for the people of Sudan, who have been going through a protracted conflict that has left tens of thousands of people killed and more than 12 million people displaced in and outside the country.
Severe weather events, including floods and droughts, have further deteriorated the humanitarian situation as a result of the the conflict, which erupted in 2023 following a power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
