Masjid Al Ameen launches '3,000 bag Cement Challenge’ to boost mosque expansion
The campaign calls for the purchase of at least a bag of cement at Sh800 each during the blessed first ten days of Dhul Hijjah

Masjid Al Ameen has launched yet another major fundraising campaign to support the expansion of the mosque and its ambitious waqf project.
Dubbed the “3,000 Bag Cement Challenge,” the initiative aims to raise Sh2.4 million towards the ongoing construction works. The campaign calls upon well-wishers to purchase at least a bag of cement at Sh800 each during the blessed first ten days of Dhul Hijjah — a period regarded as among the most virtuous in the Islamic calendar.
According to the mosque’s Da’wah Officer, Sheikh Ibrahim Njuguna, the campaign presents a unique opportunity for Muslims to invest in lasting charity and reap immense spiritual rewards.
“We are in the best days of the year, when good deeds are rewarded immensely. This is an opportunity to build a house for Allah and support the waqf project. It will be among your greatest forms of sadaqah, as you will continue earning rewards from the prayers offered in the mosque, the recitation of the Qur’an, and the various da’wah activities carried out at Al Ameen Masjid,” he said.
He further encouraged believers to remain consistent in giving throughout the sacred days.

“Let us continue donating daily during these blessed days of Dhul Hijjah, for sadaqah given in these days is not like sadaqah given in other days,” he added.
The latest appeal comes on the heels of the mosque’s highly successful“100,000 Bricks Ramadhan Challenge,” which exceeded expectations by surpassing its original target and raising more than Sh7.7 million for the project.
Construction of the project was launched a year ago and has since made remarkable progress, with works currently reaching the seventh floor.
The Sh450 million project seeks to expand the mosque and establish a sustainable waqf facility that will generate income to support the institution’s long-term operations and community programmes. The initiative is expected to help fund educational facilities, an orphanage, da’wah programmes, and various social welfare initiatives run by the mosque.
Once complete, the proposed complex will feature additional classrooms for Al Ameen Academy — the mosque’s flagship educational institution — alongside an auditorium, sports centre, media centre, counselling facilities, and other modern amenities designed to serve the wider community.
