Jamia TV set for historic Hajj coverage from Makkah
The coverage is a collaborative initiative between Jamia TV and the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM).

For the first time in Kenya, Jamia TV will join an international network of broadcasters providing a comprehensive coverage of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, marking a major milestone for the station and for Islamic media in the country.
The coverage is a collaborative initiative between Jamia TV and the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM).
A dedicated team from the station will travel to the sacred city of Makkah to deliver comprehensive coverage of the sacred pilgrimage, highlighting the rituals of Hajj and their deep spiritual significance. The initiative highlights Jamia TV’s growing role in delivering impactful and faith-centred programming during major Islamic events.
Through special broadcasts and insightful features, Jamia TV will bring the Hajj experience closer to viewers by showcasing key rituals such as Tawaf, Sa’i, the standing at Arafah, and the symbolic stoning at Jamarat. The coverage will also include live transmissions from the holy sites of Makkah, Arafah, Mina, Muzdalifah, and Jamarat, alongside personal accounts from pilgrims undertaking the journey.
Audiences back home will have the opportunity to follow the pilgrimage in real time through moving stories and reflections from pilgrims from Kenya and across the world, offering a deeper understanding of the emotional and spiritual essence of Hajj.
“It is a major milestone for Jamia TV, and we are honoured to bring our viewers a unique and spiritually enriching experience of the sacred rituals. For the first time in Kenya, we will bring to our audience a compelling portrayal of the spiritual and historical significance of Hajj, from the sacred city of Makkah.,” said Jamia TV General Manager Ibrahim Mahmoud.
Established in 2017 as Horizon TV, the station serves as Jamia Mosque’s flagship broadcasting platform. In 2025, the channel was rebranded as Jamia TV to strengthen its association with Jamia Mosque and better reflect its Islamic identity and commitment to Dawah (Islamic outreach) initiatives.
The rebranding, which coincided with the mosque’s 100-year-journey, also ushered in a renewed focus on spiritually enriching and lifestyle programming aligned with Islamic values.
