Jamia Mosque hosts Turkish MP for cooperation talks
Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations, sharing experiences, and advancing initiatives that promote the harmonious coexistence of Muslim communities.

Jamia Mosque Committee on Tuesday, April 21, hosted a delegation from Türkiye in a meeting aimed at bolstering cooperation between Muslim institutions in the country and the Republic of Türkiye.
The visiting delegation was led by Member of Parliament Prof. Abdurrahim Dusak, who is the Head of the Turkish Delegation to the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States (PUIC) and a member of the National Defense Committee.
Serving as Rapporteur of the Committee on Muslim Communities and Minorities of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States, Prof. Dusak’s visit to the country aims to deepen understanding of how the Muslim community in Kenya lives and coexists with other communities.
Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations, sharing experiences, and advancing initiatives that promote the harmonious coexistence of Muslim communities.
Jamia Mosque Treasurer Billow Kerrow briefed the visiting delegation on the role of the mosque in promoting social welfare programmes within the community, including medical care and educational support, among other initiatives.
Billow also commended the Türkiye government for its role in supporting educational programmes among Muslim communities in Kenya and other African countries, noting that hundreds of Kenyans educated in Türkiye are currently playing a vital role in socio-economic activities in the country.
The Turkish delegation underscored their strong belief that education is the foundation of a nation’s success and expressed their readiness to support initiatives that strengthen educational programmes within the Muslim community.
In attendance at the meeting was Jamia Mosque Deputy Secretary General Hussein Abdinassir, as well as other members of the committee.
