Dr. Omar Suleiman, a prominent American imam, scholar, author, and civil rights activist, has responded to his inclusion on a list released by Israel naming “top antisemitic influencers,” calling it an attempt to silence criticism and discourage public advocacy on Palestine.

In a video statement, Dr. Suleiman said the listing reflects growing scrutiny of Israeli actions and rising global awareness. He noted that the list, which includes several public figures, has circulated widely across regions. He described his inclusion as a “badge of honor” and a sign of panic, vowing to continue his advocacy for Palestine.

Dr. Suleiman argued that criticism of Israeli policies is being labeled as antisemitism. He referred to examples cited against him, including posts about harm faced by children in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as a speech supporting student activists detained in the United States. He questioned how such statements could be classified as antisemitic.

He stressed that the issue extends beyond individuals and affects the broader space for public expression. He warned that such listings place pressure on professionals and students. He pointed to cases where individuals faced job losses, academic penalties, and reputational damage after being named.

Dr. Suleiman also raised concerns about digital targeting. He alleged repeated hacking attempts, coordinated online campaigns, and efforts to shape search results around his name. He said these actions aim to discredit critics and limit their reach.

Calling for continued engagement, he urged activists to remain firm and not be intimidated. He said public advocacy and collective action remain essential to highlighting issues such as occupation and civilian suffering. He encouraged people to stay vocal and organized.

On the list released by Israel, the number one spot was given to social media influencer Dan Bilzerian, who is running for U.S. Congress in Florida. Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, who was part of the Global Sumud Flotilla seeking to deliver aid to Gaza and was detained by Israel, also features on the list.

The list also includes Egyptian comedian and former television host Bassem Youssef, American political commentator Candace Owens, and Palestinian-British journalist and editor Abdel Bari Atwan.

Others include Denmark-based doctor Anastasia Maria Loupis, Nick Fuentes, Ian Carroll, and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

The influencers have been vocal against Israel’s campaign in Gaza, as well as its attacks in Lebanon, Iran, Syria, and Yemen, which have seen innocent women and children among the main victims.
