Darul Irshaad graduates urged to be Ambassadors of Islam
The students were adviced to become living examples of Islamic values by emulating the teachings of the Qur’an and the Sunnah in their daily lives.

Graduates of Darul Irshaad Centre have been urged to uphold Islamic teachings throughout their lives, emphasizing that their conduct can positively influence society and showcase the beauty of Islam to others.
The call was made by Al Ameen Mosque CEO, Ali Khalid, who encouraged the students to put into practice the knowledge they acquired during their three-month course. He noted that living by these teachings would not only strengthen their spiritual lives but also promote a positive image of Islam through exemplary character, kindness, and honesty.
“Be ambassadors of Islam and strive to embody its teachings wherever you are. This will help foster a positive understanding of Islam among people of other faiths,” he said.
He spoke during the 48th graduation ceremony held on Sunday, April 19, at the Darul Irshaad education centre in Nguluni, Machakos County.
Describing graduation as a significant milestone, Ali advised the students to become living examples of Islamic values by emulating the teachings of the Qur’an and the Sunnah in their daily lives.
He also revealed plans to establish a polytechnic that will offer vocational training to students and members of the surrounding community.
A total of 20 students graduated after successfully completing a three-month course on the basic principles of Islam. The ceremony marked the first graduation since the centre reopened in January after being closed for 11 years.
The next intake of students is expected next month. The upcoming three-month program will cover various aspects of Islamic studies, including fiqh (jurisprudence), aqeedah (creed), seerah (the biography of the Prophet, peace be upon him), and hadith (the traditions of the Prophet).
Among those who attended the event were Sheikh Abdullatif Abdulkarim, Chairman of the Family Resource Centre at Jamia Mosque Nairobi, the Kadhi of Machakos, and Ibrahim Jillo, the Commandant of the National Criminal Investigations Academy as well as local community leaders.
