Chakama Da’wah Caravan set for next week
Among the activities in the week-long programme, include sessions on learning programmes focusing on the Islamic prayer (salah), janaza (burial rites) workshops, as well as distribution of Islamic literature.

The third edition of the Da’wah Caravan to Chakama, Kilifi County, is planned to take place next week. The annual event aims to foster Islamic knowledge among local residents while enhancing their social and economic well-being.
This year’s programme has been organized by Al Ameen Mosque, located in Juja Road Estate, Nairobi, in collaboration with the Family Resource Centre based at Jamia Mosque, and Da’wah Centre, which is housed at Adams Mosque on Ngong Road.
The week-long programme will feature a variety of activities, including learning sessions on Islamic prayer (salah), workshops on janaza (burial rites), and the distribution of Islamic literature.
A special training session for Imams will also be conducted to equip them with skills that extend beyond traditional religious guidance. The training will address contemporary challenges and empower Imams to serve as holistic leaders and agents of positive social change within their communities and the wider society.
A team of scholars from Nairobi, led by Sheikh Abdullatif Abdulkarim and Sheikh Athman Abdallah Darwesh, will transverse various villages across the Chakama area to conduct Islamic guidance and social empowerment programmes. Among the villages to be visited are Kalangoni, Gaba, Roka, Katama, Benzaro, Shakahola, Myachakwe, Bakaye, Bofu, and Adimaye.
“The caravan strengthens Islamic awareness, unity, and spiritual growth across Chakama, leaving behind communities inspired to live by Islamic values. With sustained efforts and strategic planning, Chakama can become a beacon of Islamic development in the region,” said Ali Khalid, CEO of Al Ameen Mosque.
In a related initiative, Al Ameen Mosque has launched a cloth collection drive to support residents of Chakama. The campaign seeks to collect used clothing for redistribution to needy families across the region. Many residents face difficult living conditions, with some lacking proper attire to observe their prayers comfortably and with dignity.

“It is a massive campaign — we need as many clothes as possible to help the people of Chakama. We are collecting garments for children and adults, both male and female. Please donate your used clothing that is still in good condition,” said Sheikh Ibrahim Njuguna, Da’wah Coordinator.
Donations can be dropped off at Al Ameen Mosque, located near Juja Road Estate in Pangani, or at Park Road Mosque.
