150 widows benefit from Kadhi’s Court outreach programme in Kibra
The initiative benefitted 150 widows drawn from Kibra and other surrounding areas.

As part of its corporate social responsibility programme, the Kadhi’s Court Bar–Bench Committee conducted a dry ration distribution exercise for vulnerable members of the community at Makina Mosque in Kibra, Nairobi.
The initiative benefited 150 widows drawn from Kibra and its surrounding areas.
Held on Saturday, February 21, the programme also featured interactive sessions with community members. Members of the Committee, led by Acting Chief Kadhi Sheikh Sukyan Hassan Omar, engaged participants on matters relating to the role and functions of the Kadhi’s Courts.
A similar outreach exercise was conducted last year in Mukuru kwa Njenga, where the Committee donated foodstuffs to residents of the informal settlement.
“I take this opportunity to sincerely thank the Bar–Bench Committee of the Nairobi Kadhi’s Court, the Law Society of Kenya – Nairobi Branch, our generous donors including individual law firms, advocates, and friends of the Court, as well as the leadership of the Kibra community—especially the leadership of Makina Mosque—for providing a conducive environment and platform to accomplish this noble task,” said Sheikh Sukyan.
The Bar–Bench Committee is a formal stakeholder engagement platform that facilitates structured dialogue between judges, magistrates, other judicial officers, and advocates represented by the Law Society of Kenya. Its primary goal is to promote the efficient and effective administration of justice by addressing issues affecting court processes outside the formal courtroom setting.
